Target audiences

The handful of people or organizations you actually serve. Be specific — "small businesses" is not a target audience; "independent legal practices in Belgium with one to five lawyers" is.

Audience 1

  • Who they are: name them concretely
  • What they're trying to do: the outcome they want, in their words
  • Why they'd talk to us: the gap between where they are and that outcome

Audience 2

Repeat the pattern. Most teams have two or three real audiences. If you have more than five, you probably haven't decided yet.
